Everyone in America should view this video. A very humble man, who had gone throught so much in a concentration camp, then to vow to become an American soldier once freed from there, to face prejudice once more as a soldier..fight through over whelming odds, and yet, still keep the love for this country in his heart and mind. Help his fellow Army buddies to pull through and not give up. He deserved the Metal of Honor many years earlier! God Bless him! My Son is now in the Army and in S. Korea! I am sending this one to my Son!

Thank you for reminding me that I take being an American for granted and that instead I should cherish it daily. I am so glad that you are a fellow American. I am sorry that it took so long to express our appreciation for your valor, your love of humanity and being such a warrior despite the devastating childhood you had to endure.

An incredible story by an incredible man. It is though shameful, that it took the Americans 55 years to honour him. It is sad that the Jewish people that contributed to the world so much are still encountering so much hatred and bigotry. The world did not and does not learn a thing. Sir Rubin I salute you and your humble spirit. We need many people like you in this world.

"...I am part of this country...I don't have to worry about the Gestapo or the SS knocking on my door. Do you know what this means?" Unfortunately too many Americans do not know what this man is talking about. There are 308 million people living in this country. They are Americans by an accident of their birth. Mr. Rubin is a citizen of the world and is an American by virtue of choice and his incredible actions. If only we could see this country through his eyes, America would be a far better place for all. I am here to applaude this man. That he called upon every name of GOD in his time of need and that he was heard. This is the man you want to have your back at all times. Thank you for all that you went through under such trying situations and for your survival. May GOD always be upon your shoulder.
